These are poems written at the time of Day of the Dead. They're usually sitiracal, and have an illustration. Calaveras means skull, and the poems are death oriented. Mine was about a woman who has a big heart and it gets broken. They're fables so this teaches a lesson to be careful who you trust, and don't get taken advantage of. I think mine came out nicely, I love skeletons, and all of the flowers above mean sadness or loss. Yellow carnations, orange lilies, and I forgot the red flowers. I forgot to color one of the pedals but overall, I like it.
Basically, we had to pick an idol in our lives and paint them in a Frida Kahlo art style. I chose Michelangelo and used his masterpiece David as the subject of the painting. I used Frida's love for flowers and vibrancy to bring her into the marble. I added her signature eyebrows to make her style more apparent.
